Rug Cleaning Tips

1. If you properly care for your rug you will prolong its life and appearance. Vacuum your rug periodically to remove loose soil, taking special care when you vacuum the fringe and edges.
2. Some throw rugs (especially bathroom rugs) can be washed in your home laundry.
3. Always comply with the manufacturer's recommended cleaning methods in order to prevent warranty invalidation and damage to your rug.
4. Have a professional deep-clean your rug often. Although several cleaning methods will work, in order to prevent rapid re-soiling, it is important to completely remove all cleaning agents.
5. How do you clean up dog urine on rug? As with any liquid stain on a rug, the thing you must do first is try to soak up as much of the stain as possible before it gets a chance to dry. We recommend using an old towel. If you are not confident that you can completely get rid of all the stain and odor on your own, call us for professional help.
6. Steam cleaning oriental rugs at home can be an excellent and convenient choice for very lightly soiled oriental rugs. For rugs that have had normal to heavy traffic, we recommend cleaning in our area rug workshop for the best results possible.
7. Coffee stain on your rug? If the coffee stain is fresh, you have a chance to perform coffee stain removal on your rug. First soak up the excess, and then pour less than one cup of cool water over the spot to dilute the coffee further. Blot up the excess. Mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar with 2 cups of cool water. Apply sparingly to the spot with a clean sponge. Blot the area dry. You can continue to add more vinegar solution and blot the area dry until the stain is gone.
